Michael Flanagan reports:

I met Adam Heyman and his Mum Alison who were having a few days break touring across Ireland. The pair are from Fairbanks, Alaska and had a wonderful trip to Ireland. Prior to heading to Dublin before they return home on Saturday of this week, they had a few over nights in Mullingar.

A lovely perch for mother and son
Adam Heyman and his Mum Alison from Alaska enjoy the perch and pike fishing around Mullingar

We chilled out with a bit of trolling for just a few hours and Adam had a few beautiful coloured Perch, and a nice pike weighing a few pounds. Alison is a school teacher back in Alaska, and is looking forward to showing her students some photographs from their visit to Ireland. The schools reopen on Monday August 13th in Alaska. Adam works in Afghanistan, and we are going to keep in touch on the Angling scene, so hopefully he will return to Ireland another time. Mind you it’s a bit of a long-haul, as they told me it would take 23 hours to get home from Ireland.
