On Wednesday night August 8th Lough Owel Trout Preservation Association hosted the Dan Mullally Peter competition. It was well supported and some cracking trout came on board.
Duleek Angler George Fitzgerald topped the competition with a fine trout of 1.27kg, with John Tyrrell 2nd with 1.205kg and Mick McCormack 3rd with 1.140kg. Plenty of fish were weighed in at the 11pm finish, and Owel is worth checking out some night in the coming days. Stan McKeown of L.O.T.P.A. presented the winners on the night with super prizes.
