Paul Whelan reports from Fort William in Co. Waterford:
21/09/12: Water levels are in cracking order and clarity is just perfect. Fishing has not being easy at the moment but the odd fish being picked up. Yesterday there was a bit of a change with 2 fish landed and 1 lost all on fly. Davy from the (George Hanley party) landed and released a cracking cock fish of 14lbs on a size 8 ban special on a full sink line. P.J. Nally laned and released a fish of 6lbs on fly off the Glenmore stream while his fish partner Brendan lost a fish on fly from the Abbey pool. In the last few days a lot more fish are showing themselves in the pools. This is going to make things very interesting now as there is only 9 days left in Sept.
An extension has been granted for October 1st – 12th of October strickly C&R, “Fly Only” single barbless hook.
A days fishing in Fort William for October is €70
