West Clare Shore Angling Report

Battling the weather is the biggest problem Anthony Page and I have at the moment! One good day when we can get onto the rocks is followed by several days when it is too dangerous due to heavy swells and wet slippery rocks!
When we can get safely onto the rocks, marks like The Bridges of Ross, Coosheen and Baltard are fishing well for Wrasse and Pollock.
We continue our exploration of the unfished rock marks at Coosheen with great success. Some very good Wrasse are turning up here, many over 4 lbs. weight on crab and limpet. Some very big Wrasse are also turning up at Baltard. Pollock are hitting lures intended for Wrasse and Triggerfish. We have had Triggerfish to the surface only to throw the hook on several occasions! We have also seen shoals of Triggerfish just below the surface at Baltard but they did not feed…. yet!
