Fly, prawn and lure all account for salmon on the Drowes

Monday 20^th to Sunday 26^th August 2012

There were a few rods fishing the Drowes over the week but the fishery was not particularly busy. There was a fair run of grilse. Given here are catches taken from the catch register. Over Wednesday & Thursday, Bernard McCullough recorded 5 salmon caught. The fish weighed from 5 to 7lb and were caught on a Flying ‘C’ lure from Rooney’s Turn and Kelly’s High Bank. On Thursday, Sean Carty also recorded 2 grilse weighing 3¼ & 4lb caught on a fly from Two Islands. On Friday, Gary Morrow logged 2 grilse caught on prawn from The Washstones. On Saturday, Chris Sinclair logged 2 grilse caught on prawn and on Sunday, Brian McClintock accounted for a 7lb salmon caught on a fly from the Island Pool.
