Ian Forde from Navan Anglers reports that it has been a quiet first week on the river, although water levels and clarity were perfect for the fly. There are quite a few kelts still about and hopefully the next flood will push them all back out to sea. Its nice to see a good few anglers about, and with some solid reports of fresh fish showing by seasoned anglers, it will only be a matter of time before the first Springer is landed. With mild weather forecast over the weekend, the Trout boys will be dusting their rods off and getting out. Streamers have been very effective in the early season and pictured is Evin Forde (10) with the best of a 3 fish haul he got in an afternoon on the ramparts this week.
