Angling guide Pat McLoughlin reports that Jonathan O’Brien called on spec today to see was it still ok for salmon on the Kells Blackwater. Pat thought it might be possible with small flies so he came down for the half day. After about 20 minutes his rod bent over and he was into a fish of about 10lb+ on a size 14 silver doctor fished on a dropper. Although coloured, the salmon put up a great scrap before been returned after a couple of quick photos.
