Fortwilliam Estate on the Blackwater, Co Waterford will be holding a spey casting course on the 7 & 8 of July 2012. The course which is being held in conjunction with Clonanav Fly Fishing is a unique opportunity to learn the art of salmon fly fishing on some prime beats of the river Blackwater.
Fortwilliam has some of the best beats on the lower Blackwater and is an ideal venue to learn to fly …fish. Your instructor Andrew Ryan is a THCI qualified instructor and an experienced salmon angler and guide. During the 2 day course you will learn both single and double spey, switch cast, Snake roll, snap t, circle c etc. Also covered will be modern salmon fishing equipment, spey lines, how to use shooting heads and lots more!
The course will take place on Saturday 10 am to 4 pm and Sunday 10 am to 1 pm. It includes fishing on the beats, equipment, lunch on saturday and instruction both days. Numbers are limited so early booking is advisable. The course costs €199 per person.
