Kevin Brain of kbfishing in Kerry tells us that he and his good friend Ivor, went out for a cast and they caught 11 bass to 3lb and 4 flounder! On Ivor’s last cast he caught a spent seatrout of 2lb. Sea anglers are advised to handle any sea trout inadvertently caught with great care to assure their safe return to the sea. It all happened so quick, there was nothing for the first hour and then it was like someone had switched on a light – they caught all the fish in a hour. Kevin and Ivor could not bait up quick enough with the weather being so rough. Over the last few weeks Kevin had been itching to get out and do some tidy fishing and as soon as it calmed down it paid off. The lads are just waiting for the big bass now from January onwards.
