Gavin Tivy, Skipper of the charter boat Sea Hunter out of Youghal, reports that the wreck fishing has been producing some good ling recently.

A good ling from a wreck off Youghal

Last Sea Hunter was on a wrecking trip with some handy anglers from Cork and Kilkenny. The first drop was on a wreck 10 miles out and  70m down which gave a few good ling.  They then moved on out to a group of 3 big wrecks to the west. These marks are about 20 miles off, in 85m of water.

They all produced fine ling to 18-20lb but  not much in the line of coalies or cod. In general the fishing has been very quite inshore on the reefs, so all in all a fine day for December.
