On the Sea Fishing side Josie Mahon reports that on the East Coast flounders are turning up in the estuaries now. Pennel rigs with long snoods and size 1/0 hooks work well. Crab and lug cocktails or crab seem to be the best bait and we recommend using a Gemini disgorger for deep hook holds. The mackerel run seems to have slowed down along the East coast. It has also been reported that a small number of bass were taken in the north Louth area over the last few weeks with crab, worm sand-eel baits producing best results.
