Both Rivers still are producing quality trout to nymphs and dries, although hatches tended to occur later in the day probably due to the overnight frost. Mark Sloan won Saturdays Bann competition at Banbridge with a fine wild brown of 1.5lbs, Willie Russell was second and Neil Cardwell third. The Gilford stretch of the Bann is also producing consistently with plenty of fish in the 20 to 28cm range falling for nymphs in the faster water. The Banns tributary, Cusher isn’t being outdone by the parent river either with Bernie McMurray returning 40 trout over the 20cm mark for his day with local guide Brian Russell. The bulk of these fish fell to baetis patterns both nymph and dry.
