Philip Maher enjoyed some great trout on fly with his sons yesterday. Using a boat to get some unusual spots Philip managed to hook into some great River Suir brown trout. His best fish was taken right inside the town of Clonmel.
The river was high following recent floods but was slowly dropping and though coloured careful fly choice meant that his quarry was still able to see his imitations. The exact tying of successful fly, a Polyfitus Nymph inspired creation, is a closely guarded secret.
