David Tantrum from Waterford City & County Trout Anglers Association reports from Carrigavantry:
Donnie Hayes and Keith Moore fished Carrigavantry last Sat after the mid week stocking of one kilo rainbows and as predicated it stirred up the lethargic residents.Using traditional flies they caught 14 browns to three pounds, they lost count of the number of stockies released. With the weed dying back and the food supple diminishing the fish are becoming less selective and the fishing should be brilliant over the next two months.Come and join us but remember the browns are now out of season even though they are sterile.Does anybody have a fly pattern that will kill when trout are taking water-boatman? Post it on our face book. These become a large part of the October diet Wrap up well and enjoy your autumn fishing.
