David Warrington of the website Ireland’s Coarse Fishing contacted us to let us know about a huge fish caught earlier this week.
Ireland’s first 40 lb carp was banked on the 27th of February. The huge fish weighed in at an portly 40 lb and 2 ozs. Angler Andy Doyle successfully tempted the 40 lb fish known locally as “Big Hole” at the very late hour of 4 am. Andy was fishing at Private syndicate water near Maynooth in Co. Kildare which was formerly known as Maynooth Fisheries.  This huge fish wins our Catch of the Week
