"Large and plentiful" New Ross brothers land 5 fish at Carrigavantry

David Tantrum, secretary of Waterford city and County Angling Association gives us an update on Carrigavantry Fisheries:
We will be stocking Carrigavantry Reservoir this week. Fishing should be excellent, the newly introduced fish stir up the residents, which we know from our survey with the fish finder, are large and plentiful .We were finding them difficult to catch but this was over come by the Philpot brothers from New Ross, fishing on a day ticket who had 5 fish on Claret Bumbles and Green Peters stripped fast through the waves. Terrestrials are an important part of the diet in October and bank fishing from the windward shore could pick up a 6 pounder.Remember to lock up the oars and tie the boat securely, good winter fishing.
