The 4th Annual Killeshandra Coarse Angling Festival was won by Keith Murphy from Tempo a member of the Erne Anglers winning a total of €1,050.00 in prize money. 50% of the 38 anglers travelled over from the UK with the rest of the competitors coming from Northern Ireland and the local area. A total of 1,298 lb of fish was caught over the 4 day festival which ran from 7th-10th May, and was fished on Eonish, Killykeen and the Lower Derries.

Keith caught a total of 71 lb, second was John Potters, Erne Anglers, with 57 lb, 3rd John Jowett , Drennan NW, 55 lb, 4th Dickie Carr, Drennan, 52 lb and 5th Dave Brettle, Anglers Rest, 51 lb.
The event was sponsored by Cavan Tourism, Gerald Green, Spinners Tackle Shop, The Lough Bawn Hotel, Hayes Bar, Eonish Lodge, Gray’s Gala, Lakeland Dairies, Shamrock Inn, Lakeside Cottages, Trisha’s Barbers Shop, Breffni Oils, Owen’s Foodmarket and Fragrant Flowers. The total prize money was €5,450 of which €890 was raised by local donations.
The festival organisers would like to thank all sponsors and in particular, Martin Fleming from the Lough Bawn Hotel, Lee Symonds, and Derek Whittaker for their invaluable help in running this very successful festival, and also all the anglers for supporting the event.
