1,041 people were rescued by the RNLI during 939 launches in 2012.
Launches had fallen slightly on comparison to 2011, but the number of rescues was up.
14% of lifeboat launches were to fishing boats and other commercial vessels, but over half of launches for the year were to power, sail and pleasure craft…..
