Rob Love from Carton House Fishery reports:
Fishing has been quiet on the Rye Lake in the last week. I have no reports to hand of fish being caught. However this is good news for anyone braving the cold over the next few days as the Pike have had a nice bit of a break and the water is rested.
Although temperatures have been on the chilly side and are forecast to drop even further next week there is some cause for optimism – high pressure is to build from mid week on and with that being the dominant feature there is hope the larger fish which were caught in October and November will show up in catch reports again.
Tickets / permits should be purchased at the hotel main reception prior to fishing. Parking is at the boathouse on the lake. Please respect the wishes of golfers and stay off greens and Tee areas as they can become badly cut up when fishing activity takes place on them.
