Frank Maunsell of the Owenmore Fishery in Co. Kerry reports that the recent rain saw catches increase over the weekend…

23rd September 2013: The recent rain has freshened up the lakes and they fished well over the week end. Between the two lakes we had 12 trout between 3/4 lb and 3 lb.The wind was from the west and if we had a south westerly wind we would have done better. The bright sun on Sunday didn’t help us either .The wind is to go south westerly during the week and if there is cloud on Tuesday with south westerly wind of 5 /6 knots the lake should fish well.
