Brendan Peppard reports from Ballyduff Bridge Fishery on the Munster Blackwater:
27/08/2013: The river is steadily dropping making things difficult on all the beats. There was a slight rise during last week which quickly dropped back and is now showing height as 10 3/4 ins.at the bridge. Fish are still showing but not at all interested. There are a great amount of holding fish from Cappoquin to Youghal waiting for an increase in water height.

A sure sign of this is the standing room only shoulder to shoulder brigade outside Cappoquin. Despite all this syndicate member P J Nally caught a Salmon approx.5 lbs.on the fly at Ballyduff, successfully returned.
John Tarbett from the UK had a fine fish at Ballincurrig, also on the fly and also returned.
The dog otter is busy with one of the pups teaching it tricks of the trade. They seem to take turns doing this and also alternating pups.
