28 February 2013 The last 2 weeks have been completely dry, with frosty mornings and bright clear days. The water level has dropped to below 0.6 metres for the first time this season. Eoin Mc Manus had a 10lbs fish on Rapalla from the Money Hole on February 16th after losing a fish in the same pool the previous week. On the 17th Marty O’Hara had a lovely 17.5lbs fish on yellow belly devon from Briney’s. On the 21st Joe Broderick had a 9lbs fish on Rapalla from Peter’s High Bank. The last fish reported was Eoin Mc Manus’ fish from the Mill Pool last Sunday evening, taken on Rapalla which he released and estimated at 8 to 9lbs. Fishing has been quiet since Sunday with 2 fish reported lost but not many fish seen.

The OPW’s website now has realtime water level and temperature data available for the river Drowes at the Four Masters’ Bridge.
