As of Monday 27th May water now at 2 feet 6 inches on the gauge at Johnston’s up slightly with overnight rain.
Early in the week there were a few fish caught but the second half of the week was disappointing unless you are Tony Murphy from Tralee who landed a beauty of 12.5 lbs at Johnston’s on Saturday. On Sunday there were a few fish met and caught on Laune Anglers waters. A Tralee angler lost a good fish of 12 lbs plus and then caught another ‘handy fish’. There was a fish of 10 lbs caught at Crowley’s on the fly that had seal marks on him.
Permits for Laune Anglers up to the end of July cost only €25 per day.
Beat 3
There were two fish reported from Beat 3 early in the week but the water has fallen back too much for good fishing on Beat 3.
Prospects: The fishing while not spectacular would be called fairly good. If an angler can meet two fish in a session one of them in double figures that can’t be bad. A drop of fresh water can only be good for prospects for the week.

Go fishing…
Anglers please note: A ‘One Day’ salmon permit for Beat 3 only costs €25 probably the best value in salmon fishing in the country with a good chance of a fish.
