Flavour of Killorglin announces it second annual festival scheduled for the 5^th 6^th & 7^th of July 2013, Sat – Fri

Killorglin – June 2013 – The Flavour of Killorglin, food festival returns to the town for its 2^nd year running. The committee of food lovers, providers, innovators and local sporting groups would like to announce the FOK festival 2013 program centred on the provision of local produce and providing a platform for local businesses to demonstrate the truly excellent food products and services that can are available in the town.

The festival will provide tastes of cuisine for all palettes. A plethora of musical entertainment, taste tours, angling exhibit’s, interactive family events, local food producers and venues collaborating, exhibit’s, lectures, and full days of entertainment, family fun and the chance to experience food that can take you anywhere.

Killorglin welcomes competing cyclists in the famous Ring of Kerry Cycle to the town during the race and will be providing discounted rates for accommodation to cyclists and their families, at participating Bed & Breakfasts and Hotels.

With the weather rumoured to be the finest weekend of the summer we are expecting our entertainment and especially our local food to take you anywhere. Come to Killorglin this summer!!!

Sat – Fri July 5^th, 6^th & 7^th

Flavour of Killorglin takes place the weekend of the 5th, 6th, and 7th of July. An exciting range of activities and attractions will be on offer, for people with a variety of interests:

Food Lovers –

Taste Trail at 20 + locations around the town offering over 35 types of tasters costing from €2-6, taking place 2-6pm Saturday;
the Flavour Market at Library Place on Sunday 12-3pm, hosting over 20 food producers, noon-time Jazz and a Champagne & Oyster Bar.

Water Activity Beginners –

Canoeing on the Laune on Friday evening 4.30-7pm, hosted by Cappanalea Outdoor Education Centre;
Angling for Beginners on Saturday 11-1pm hosted by the Laune Angling Club.

Family Fun –

The Flavour of Fun Treasure Hunt on Saturday 11-1pm starting at Library Place; and
the Family Barbecue at The Manor on Sunday 4-7pm (come earlier to enjoy the Munster Final on TV)
Salsa and Zumba Dancing at Library Place Saturday 3-5pm. Beginners welcome!

Night Entertainment –

Puck Fair Launch will be held on Library Place on Friday from 7-9pm with live music and mussel tasters;
DJ Ben O Faolain will return to Shea’s Beer Garden on Saturday night from 10pm for a night of hip hop, funk and disco dancing.
