Breffni Challenge fishes well with good catches reported from many venues

Fifty six anglers fished the annual Breffni Challenge over five days.  The venues included Dernaferst North, Corfree, Kevins Shore Rosduff, Bawndora.  This event fished extremely well with exceptionally good weights recorded.

The following is a list of the winners:-

• 1^st. Kevin Rowles            69.350kg
• 2^nd. John Jowett             64.650kg
• 3^rd. Colin Moss              61.330kg
• 4^th. Graham Firth            56.420kg
• 5^th. Leo Koot                  55.650kg
• 6^th. Neil Mallinson           52.640kg

The Derek Pratt Memorial one day event also took place last week and Graham Frith won this event with a weight of 14kg.

Good Tench are reported in many areas.

There are not many anglers in the Cootehill area this week but those who are fishing this region report good Tench, Bream Roach and Hybrids.

Drumlona, Bairds Shore and Barnagrove are all reported to be giving good bags of fish.
