Michael Flanagan, Angling Guide and Reporter, writes that quite a lot of trout are on the move on Lough Ennell, and that it was encouraging to see many small trout surface feeding…
The Welshman’s Buttons are up, and the trout have certainly taken a shine to these flies. Last week I spent a day on Ennell and early in the morning the lake was flat calm, and I came across quite a few eels in shallow water. I also picked up an old mug, which looked like a rare old find – it had being in the Lake for some time. I also heard from Rochfortbridge Anglers Seamus Cully and Keith Sherry who also had a few nice Ennell trout.
