Owenea Fishery report from Lindsey Clarke – Monday 22nd to Sunday 28th July 2013

There was little rainfall this week once again and plenty of sunshine. There was some rain on Wednesday which saw the river rise slightly to 0.10 metres. There was also some rain on Friday night and the river was reading 0.20 metres on Saturday morning. Both of these mini floods however were very dirty and the river was virtually unfishable. The gauge average for the week only read 0.10 metres.

There was a low angling effort and only 7 visiting rods fished for the week with most avoiding the heat of the day. There is little to report in the way of catches which is hardly surprising. I caught & released 2 sea trout on flies of around 1lb each from beat 5.
