17/03/13 The water level has dipped below 0.5 metres on the gauge, a low spring level, especially this early in the season. Today was dry with sunshine in the afternoon. There is no significant rainfall forecast for the coming week so a rise in levels before next weekend is unlikely. Three fish were reported last weekend, 2 on Friday, both released and one on Saturday, all from below Lennox’s Bridge on prawn. And on the Thursday  an 8lbs fish from the Island Pool on fly.

Fergal Hanley Had This Lovely Deep 16.5lbs Fish On Copper Toby From Peter’s Reeds on St Patricks Day

Today, St Patrick’s DAy,  a lovely 16.5lbs fish was taken from Peter’s Reeds, just below the Wash Stones today on a copper toby. Apart from these and some fish lost during the week fishing remains quieter than normal for the time of year.
Some fresh water would be welcome anytime soon.
