Wexford guide Sid Jones has a bountiful trip at Kilmore quay:

On a recent boat trip to the beautiful Kilmore quay with a mixed party of first time anglers and some young old hands we steamed to our mark to get the lines wet and hopefully catch some fish…… and that we did……. With over 100 fish caught and a good mix of Cod, Pollock, Gurnard, Mackerel, Wrasse, Ling and Dabs with everyone catching fish.

Dave caught the biggest fish and “Albert magic feathers Archer” caught the most fish on the day of the day by a long shot !!!. First time boat angler Eddie delighted with his catches of Ling,Pollock and Cod, Bernard, Colin,Darren and Dermot hauling  in plenty of Cod and Pollock between them it was left to the young guns !! my son Dan who is an experienced angler with catches of double Pollock and dabs and first time angler Amy Lynch catching the most variety of fish on the day with Gurnard, Mackerel, Pollock and Cod  to her name stole the show in my eyes !! Thank you and well done to one and all it was a great trip.

An expert little fisherman

After disembarking John Deveraux’s Celtic Lady I headed for some shore fishing to check out a fishing mark before heading home. As the tide flooded and the sun set behind the dunes my rod gave a distinctive bite indication… A Bass of 2.5lbs hit my ragworm baited hook to my delight.
After catching several dogfish my rod then bounced from a serious bite, striking into the bite the fish then took off like a train steaming off to the right at first then when I thought I was in control it took off 50 yards to the left stripping line from my reel…. A 6lb+ beautiful stary smooth hound was landed … What a brilliant end to a great days fishing.
