The news in from Kinsale is that the first blue sharks of the season were landed last Thursday…

Ger Murphy, Skipper of Sea Breeze III out of Kinsale, is the first to report blue shark this year in Irish waters. Ger had a group from Holland out for the first shark trip of the season 2013 last Thursday. This angling party had specifically booked for shark fishing following their success with Ger last year.

But as no shark trips had been made yet this summer, the pressure was on.  Ger steamed 2 miles south of the Lusitania and in the end there was no pressure at all. The anglers had an excellent day and tagged 5 blue shark .

The Sea Breeze III is also getting good ground fishing off the Old Head. The anglers I have had out have landed a lot of ling up to 17lb and some fine conger too.

Go fishing…
