Luke Aston is probably looking forward to a nice spell of weather. The last week has seen some unsettled weather, but they made the most of any drop in the wind to get offshore. Luke’s guests found lots of hard-fighting pollack on the reefs, with large numbers of smaller fish around Loop Head. Mackerel numbers were hit and miss but they found enough for bait. They also had some fine spurdogs and some nice coalfish and ling.
The estuary has provided sheltered fishing when needed, with some nice tope and bull huss providing good sport.
The settled spell arriving now should offer good opportunities to get further offshore, with maybe some more toothy predators to come in the next few reports…
Go fishing…
