Lough Derg :
Paul Burke and Danny Tiernan from Irishfishingtours.com had some excellent early season trout fishing on Lough Derg. Trout ranging from 11lbs 8 ozs to 6 lbs have been caught by themselves and visiting anglers on a variety of lures from deep diving crank baits to dead roach fished close to the bottom .
Ron Gates, USA caught his first brown trout of 11 lbs 8 oz trolling lures. Ron is a bass fisherman from New York State and competes in professional bass tournaments in the US.
Diego Scilia from Italy caught a 6 lbs 5 oz trout he caught jerk baiting for pike in Garrykennedy, Lough Derg.
Diego caught another nice fish , a 16lbs pike he caught casting an X-BUSTER pike pattern lure.
All fish were returned alive to hopefully give another angler a chance at catching a big one.
