Shaun Hegarty reports that the fishing at Curragh Springs continues to improve with good conditions most days of the week. Even with the heavy rain at times the water remains crystal clear. The weekend saw the best returns for some time and those who were prepared to stand out in the ever changing weather were well rewarded with fish. Indeed reports of some anglers catching upwards of 20 fish. Have a look at Paul Mc Graths blog on moyfisher.wordpress.com

Paul fished here on Sunday with a few of his friends really enjoying the day out.

The fish are well spread out around the lake with no particular hot-spots and are much more active than they have been recently. On the calm mornings fish were seen moving on the surface and Anglers were having a lot of sport with fish chasing small lures, nymphs and wet flies. When the breeze got up later in the days the fish tended to go deeper and Buzzers fished around 4 to 6 feet were working well. Although no big fish were landed this week, the heaviest coming in at around 4.5 lb landed on Sunday to Billy McGhee up on a visit from Mayo, most anglers are more than pleased to land the hard-fighting Curragh Springs rainbows being stocked at present.
