Lough Lene was certainly buzzing with anglers in recent days, as the first duck- Fly stated to hatch. Unfortunally the Peadar Caffrey Cup was cancelled on Sunday, due to strong winds, but many anglers ventured out and fished sheltered shores. I met a few great characters on Lene, and Stuart Killeen had a cracking Brown trout of 3lbs, while Ken Murray of the 2009 Meath Shooting team hit the target with a beautiful rainbow also pushing towards 3lbs. George Kelly from Wexford had his Grandsons out and Cian Ennis, and brother Aaron had a super day on Saturday. Not even the rain could dampen their spirits.
