Day two of the Muckno Mania Coarse Angling Festival took place on Tuesday 2nd July on Lough Muckno in Co Monaghan. Sections were fished on Black & Yellow Island and White Island and fishing conditions were near perfect. Weights close to 30kgs had been taken on Black Island on the previous day but it was White Island that threw up the top weight on Day 2 of this new event. The top weight of the day was recorded by top international angler Mark Pollard from the UK. Mark produced a great mixed bag of bream, hybrids and roach on feeder that weighed in at 28.650kg. Mark fished Muckno during the world pairs last years and just loves the place. When I asked him how he found the fishing on Muckno he replied “Heaven”. Other notable weights produced on Tuesday included Rob Wooten with 25.880kg and Dave Slater with 22.700kg. Section wins were recorded by Mark Pollard, Rob Wooten, Dave Slater and Peter Walsh.
