David Tantrum is delighted to tell us that the beautiful Carrigavantry & Knockaderry fisheries are being restocked this week:
The fishing has been challenging during the hot spell when the trout disappeared amongst the weeds stuffing themselves on a proliferation of snails. The summer stocking takes place this week, so expect brilliant fishing, when the residents stirred on by the competition from the new arrivals will take your flies with gusto. So don’t feed them with artificials, – use 10 lbs. casts. This will lessen the inevitable breaks and allow the fish to be landed quicker, and released fish will survive to fight another day. A tasty damsel should stimulate their appetite!
