Hamish Currie and a crew of specimen hunters were out last weekend and got into some big fish in deepwater off the Antrim coast…
Another fine day in the north channel allowed us to once again go deep in search of specimens. After collecting herring and coalfish baits it was time to get the lines down in 500ft of water and we didn’t have to wait long before the usual suspects were hammering the baits.
It was nice to see Thomas White from Ballymena hook and land his first common skate, a fine fish of 179lbs. Ling, conger and spurdogs made up the catches for the day.
As I say to the boys give me the weather and I will deliver the goods!
