Local angler Andrew Rea was one of Ireland’s star performers at the recent 30th Youth Home International fly fishing competition at the famous Grafham Water, Cambridgeshire, England.

Andrew, who was fishing in the Ireland team for the second year, was one of the 14 strong team that travelled to Grafham Water on August 3 to fish against Scotland, Wales and the host nation England.

During the two practice days the Ireland team and its mentors did their homework, identifying the hot spots, the depth the fish were feeding at and the killer flies. As a result the team was full of confidence on competition day….
