Harry McAteer, from Belfast, won the Harry Lafferty Cup for the top Irish rod at the International Fly Fishing Association’s autumn match.

Harry landed the title with nine trout for over 17lb, which he caught using a combination of dabblers and boobies on a DI5 sweep.

The match was hosted by the Welsh Salmon and Trout Fishing Association and was held on Llyn Brenig, where the Irish lads were unfortunate when the weather changed on match day and the trout just wouldn’t respond to their methods….
