Charter skipper Luke Aston talks to Paddy Keogh of Ireland Fishing Diaries about how he emerged from a commercial fisherman to a charter boat skipper and how his perception has changed through the years.
Luke recants some of his earlier expeditions and the fish he caught. From large skate to a fierce fighter – the Six Gill Shark. One of his earlier ones weighed in at 300lb, a photo of which still hangs on Luke’s wall. From there things got even better, later bigger shark were caught with one up to 1, 056 lbs, the first rod caught Shark or fish over 1000lbs in this part of Europe.
