Full-Time Sports Development Officer – Angling Northern Ireland
The National Coarse fishing Federation of Ireland are very pleased to announce that a joint application made by the Ulster Coarse Fishing Federation UCFF and Ulster Angling Federation UAF to Sport Northern Ireland to secure one of 18 proposed full time Sports Development Officer posts has been accepted.
Such is the need for a role in the promotion of angling in Northern Ireland that even when a reduction in funding reduced the number of posts from 18 to 12, our sport scored highly in an extremely competitive field and the joint application was approved to fund this position for a period of four years.
The post to be advertised shortly via www.sportni.net will carry an excellent salary package with allowances. The successful applicant will work closely with both organisations to increase participation in the Sport of Angling in NI. In particular the role holder will target underrepresented groups to include juniors, females, the disabled and those with special needs to form new angling clubs and increase the membership of existing ones.
The UCFF and UAF will continue to work closely with Sport NI to deliver more of the recommendations contained within the NI Angling Review for the benefit of all anglers in Northern Ireland.
