Pawel Orlow reports from the last  Fishmaniak pike boat competition which was held last weekend (31st August’14) on Skeagh Lake in Co. Cavan. 15 club’s memebers took part in this event – 7 boats all together. The competition started at 9 am following a meeting and short briefing during which each team got a club measuring tape and instructions. Competitors used spinning, trolling and dead baiting methods. The event was great and we had typical pike weather – a mix clouds and sun.

The competitors managed to catch 11 pike all together.  The biggest pike was caught by Tomasz Bartoszko  – 86 cm of lenght.

After the event the lads had their usual barbecue and the prize-giving.

The Results of the Competition are as follows:

1st place – Pawel Orlow – – 3 pike 227cm of lenght in total

2nd place – Tomasz Bartoszko – 2 pike -160cm

3rd place – Janis Kucans – 2 pike – 143cm.
