Michael Murray had been fishing with us a couple of times already this season searching for his First Ever Salmon. On July 1st. he succeeded – landing a sparkling grilse on spinner on Ballinaroone in challenging conditions. He was fishing with his son Nathan who then proceeded to catch his First Ever Salmon as well. Michael then went on to catch a second salmon later that day just to prove that it was no fluke. Well done both!

The following day Alan Andrews caught this fine 9.8lb salmon also at Ballinaroone. Two grilse including Raymond Tanghe (Belgium) first ever salmon were caught on 03 July. On July 4, one 5lb grilse was caught on fly and released by Carsten Nylander (Denmark) and on Saturday we had another First Ever Salmon for Richard Toulmin (UK) with a 5lb. grilse, also released.
