Brian Stevens, Slaney River Trust, reports on the last week’s fishing on the Slaney…
This was a week of 2 halves with the water dropping steadily until Wednesday and the lower half of the river fishing well with Clohamon, Tombrick and Riversdale amongst others producing fish. On Wednesday Paul Ryan had a great evening’s sport on Riversdale hooking 3 double figure springers . Two of them came off but the 3rd, which was landed on a cascade, was estimated at circa 14lbs.

The rain, which started on Thursday, knocked out most of the rest of the week but despite being high and coloured the river came back into order on Sunday evening with a fish to Tiernan Sludds in Enniscorthy and this nice fish (8-10lbs) off Moyadie to Tommy Kidd.
