Last week saw more great conditions for Salmon angling but catches were quieter than the previous week.
The Gaoth Beara river in Doochary was slow with only 3 fish reported last week.
Dermot Mc Laughlin had a fresh sea-liced grilse of 5 lbs on spinner from the falls pool at Beflaght, Lindsey Clarke had a fine 11 lbs fish on the fly, below Peter’s point and Damien O’ Donnell had a nice fish of 7 lbs on the worm from the falls pool also.
Permits for the fishery are available from the village shop in Doochary or from the IFI Angling Centre in Glenties.
The Cloghan Lodge Estate recorded another 18 salmon & Grilse last week with less angling pressure than the previous week.
Some of last weeks’ successful anglers included Alan Loftus with a fresh 4 lbs fish on fly from the Ivy Bridge beat. Robert Logue landed 2 nice fish of 7lbs & 10 lbs from the Ivy Bridge Beat on Monday last. Robert also hooked and lost and two fish !
Chris Martin had a nice fish of 8 lbs on the fly from Mc Gintys on Monday morning along with James Dohertys’ fish of 6 lbs on the fly aswell from the same pool.
Warren Campbell was on the mark again with a nice fresh fish of 6 lbs on the spinner on Sunday afternoon. Kerry Hardy had a lovely fish of 8lbs on the fly from the Annick beat.
