Frank Maunsell reports from Owenmore Fishery:

29/09/2014: We have not had rain for the past six weeks and the river is as low as I have ever seen it. Having said that when I checked the pools at night I see a constant trickle of good seatrout passing through. Last Saturday the wind finally decided to go south west and two of the local lads decided to take a chance with the boat on the White Lake and they ended up with 13 seatrout up to 4 1/2 lbs weight.

South westerly wind is the only wind that suits our system and if you have it blowing force 5 or 6 as much as you can be guaranteed any thing in nature you can be almost certain that you will catch fish on the lakes in this wind.
