John McLaughlin reports on the River Finn:

The Springers are starting to run the Finn in better numbers now and as a result the Cloghan Lodge Salmon Fishery saw more action last week
Chris Gallagher was unlucky to loose a nice fresh run fish around the 8-9lbs mark on Friday last from the Ivy Bridge beat on a flying C spinner.
Well done to Kevin Mc Crossan, Letterkenny who landed the first fish of the season from the Graveyard pool on the Ivy Bridge beat on Saturday.
The fish was estimated at 8 lbs and fell to a gold bodied Willie Gunn tube.
Estate Rod, Brendan Garland was next off the mark on Sunday with a fine fresh fish of at least 10 lbs.
This fish also came from the graveyard pool and fell to a Donegal Cascade tube.

Other Estate rods, Warren Campbell and Shane Lockhead were unfortunate to hook and loose a fish each on Sunday from the Grilse Streams.
We also have reports of other fish downstream from the various Association waters, including David Houlker who had a lovely fish just over 12lbs from the Glebe Club water. There was also a nice fish of at least 10lbs from the Finn anglers water and a cracking fish estimated at 15 lbs from the Ballybofey & Stranorlar Club waters on Monday of this week.
The water is holding below 3 ft on Davy’s Rock, Ivy Bridge, 2ft Glenmore Bridge at the moment and we should continue to see numbers of fish steadily increase this week.

Permits and guiding service for the Cloghan Lodge Salmon fishery are available here from me at the Angling centre.
