Wexford guide Sid Jones of Fishing Ireland teams up with another winner to give his son a birthday to remember. Sid tells us how the day went:
Finally after a couple of Tope trips ruined by our lovely Irish weather I finally got a chance to get out on the water and target some of these hard fighting sleek torpedoes and who to call on to provide a vessel ? none other than the beastmaster himself Kit Dunne.
I’ve fished with Kit on numerous of occasions and an excellent service is always provided but this was a special trip as I wanted mouth fulls of teeth and aching arms for my son Dan’s birthday…. and he provided it in abundance 10 tope were caught in total up 1.4 m and a much bigger specimen tope broke me off just before being netted.
There were catches of doggies, hounds and bull huss on the day too. First time Tope hunters Dan and Tracey Murphy both landed Tope 25lb and 30lb, Brian Taite landed two Tope 25+ and 30+, Brendan Lynch landed a 20+ tope and his daughter Amy stole the show landing 3 Tope the biggest just shy of being a specimen. I myself was delighted to land a Tope of 1.4m aprox 36lb and a break off at the net by a much bigger fish definitely a specimen and estimated at close to 50lb. An excellent day was had by one and all we’ll all definitely be back out with Kit again and I couldn’t recommend him higher.
