On the boats this week the big news comes yet again from Declan Kilgannons boat ” The Kiwi Girl ” . Last year the Kiwi Girl put Donegal bay back on the map for deep sea big game fishing after landing a massive 628lb Bluefin Tuna and just weeks later landing several more and a record breaking Blue shark of 199lb in weight . Last Friday they done it again . This time they landed a huge Skate of about 170lb . Before now there hasn’t been much effort put into catching Skate in the area but it has always been known that they were there with quite regular hookings of these beasts . Now we know that they can be targeted and caught. Just another reason for anglers to visit Donegal bay “Irelands premier angling location “.
