Brian Stevens, Slaney River Trust, reports on the last week’s fishing on the Slaney…
On Wednesday and Friday the lower river was very dirty due to localised thunder storms.
The week a whole was a little hit and miss although individual anglers had success in particular Andy Kelly who landed a 37″ (circa 20lbs) fish on Tuesday at Clohamon and Anthony Doran also got his name in the book there. Mossy Brown got this 10lber in the very dirty water at Tombrick on Wednesday and Brian Harvey picked up a 10lber on Saturday – his first of the season.
I hear that there was good fishing in the Kildavin and Tullow area was good and both Eoin Jackman and Tony Quigley were among the successful anglers. There were 6 fish landed in Enniscorthy including these fish from George O’Connor and John Morrissey while the same number were lost.
If you have ever wondered what the river looks like from a salmon’s perspective take a look at this underwater Video shot by Enniscorthy club members last September.
